Carole Powell

Carole lives in the beautiful countryside of a small town near Louisville, Ky with her husband, John. Carole carries her camera everywhere she goes and snaps photos of her world around her for inspiration for her paintings. She also enjoys portraiture of people and animals. For years, she has painted numerous murals in homes, restaurants, schools, businesses and churches. Her art now is oils on on canvas, either in oil or acrylic. Her work is a wide range of landscapes, seascapes, floral and portraits. However, she is inspired to paint Christian works, depicting her strong faith.

Carole says that when her artistic juices begin to flow and it seems almost impossible to put down the brush. She will be at the easel for hours, - sometimes completing the painting in one setting. She has formal training from the Louisville School of Art, was an art major in college and has taken lessons from some well-known artists whose pallets have been oils, acrylics and watercolors.

Carole is an award-winning artist with several of her works across the globe and is currently exhibiting.at the Fine Arts Bardstown, Bardstown,Ky.and at VABC in Shepherdsville, Ky. Carole is a member of the Central Kentucky Art Guild in Elizabethtown, Ky., and she is the past president of the Visual Artists of Bullitt County and past vice president of the Bullitt County Arts Council in Shepherdsville, Ky.
